A Notary Public is a public official appointed by the state government to witness the signing of important documents and administer oaths. Services typically include verifying the identity of signers, witnessing signatures, and notarizing various legal documents.
A: For notarization in Florida, you must present a valid, government-issued photo ID. Acceptable forms of identification, which must be current or issued within the past five years and contain a serial or identifying number, include:
Florida driver's license or ID card.
U.S. passport.
Foreign passport (with U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service stamp).
Driver's license or ID card from another U.S. state, territory, Canada, or Mexico. U.S. military ID card.
Veteran health ID card (U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs).Inmate ID card (Florida Department of Corrections or U.S. Bureau of Prisons, issued after January 1, 1991).
U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service ID card.
Sworn, written statement from a law enforcement officer (regarding confiscated inmate identification).
Additionally:
All signers must be present and coherent. The document must be complete (except for the signature) before notarization.
Credible witnesses can be used if you lack the above IDs. We can either use witnesses you provide, or we can provide witnesses for an additional charge of $25 per witness. Please contact us if you require witness services.

A: The signer must have proper and valid identification.
The signer must be physically present.
The signer must be able to communicate in English.
The signer must swear or affirm the contents of the document for notarizations that require an oath or affirmation.
The signer must not appear to be confused, disoriented or lack the mental capacity to sign documents.
Signer must not be coerced.
Documents must be complete with no blank spaces.
Yes, although we are sometimes able to accommodate same day clients it is preferable to book an appointment in advance in order to ensure a Notary will be available to see you. This also allows us to ensure we have all necessary documents in advance and that we are honoring your time.
No, notaries are not authorized to provide legal advice, draft legal documents, or perform tasks that go beyond their notarial duties. Their role is to verify the identity of the signer, witness the signing of documents, and administer oaths. Providing advice may land the notary in legal trouble up to and including incarceration.
